The Opportunity
This is a true second-in-command role.
You will take ownership of the operational engine of the business, ensuring all departments operate cohesively, profitably, and with clear accountability.
This includes leadership and integration across:
Project delivery
Finance and reporting
Systems (Simpro)
Sales coordination
Administration and people performance
Your mandate is simple but significant: build a scalable structure that protects margins, drives performance, and enables the Managing Director to focus on strategy, growth, and key relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee all project delivery to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
Maintain visibility across scheduling, labour allocation, and capacity forecasting.
Establish consistent performance standards across Project Managers and field teams.
Commercial & Financial Performance
Partner with Finance to monitor profitability, cash flow, and cost controls.
Drive margin improvement initiatives.
Create clear reporting dashboards and performance visibility.
Business Integration
Align Operations, Finance, HR, Systems, Sales, and Administration into one cohesive operating model.
Remove silos and implement clear communication rhythms.
Act as the primary internal escalation point.
Systems & Process
Embed full Simpro utilisation across departments.
Standardise SOPs to support growth and future team expansion.
Identify automation and efficiency opportunities.
Leadership & Culture
Develop Project Managers and emerging leaders.
Build a high-performing leadership team.
Translate strategic direction into clear operational execution.
